Ep. 2 Summoning Briar & Ivy
Valerian: Summoning demons isn’t so difficult for any decently trained magic user, especially in the case of minor imps such as Briar and Ivy. Burn the right incense, repeat the summoning incantations, draw the necessary pentagrams. Then they appear, bound by enchantments. Though they are technically in servitude, they rarely display any sense of servility or willingness.
Valerian: Although they come in all shapes and sizes, these weren’t exactly the demons I was expecting. I read they were young in appearance and relatively new in existence as far as their kind is concerned. I didn’t anticipate their otherworldly beauty or porcelain skin; it somewhat disarmed me.
Valerian: While my husband Sage is away at his home in the capital, I need magical assistance in order to keep things running smoothly. He suggested it was finally time to find familiars of my own. After months of research into the more compliant, yet lesser imps through history I settled on these two standing before me.
Ivy: “Gods sis, I can’t believe we’ve actually been called upon after all these years!”
Briar: “Quiet now. Let’s see what they want and get this over with.”
Briar: “Remember little one, humans are not to be trusted, magicians least of all. Nothing good ever comes from a summoning, not for us.”
Ivy: “I’ll remember.”
